Kayla Bowden, Esq.

Attorney Kayla Bowden - Law Offices of Kenneth Hiller, PLLC

Born and raised on the West Side of Buffalo, NY, Kayla grew a passion for helping her community and advocating for working class families. From a very young age she learned to use her intelligence and creativity to connect with others participating in activities like theatre and mock trial. Kayla attended some of the very best schools in Buffalo, NY, including City Honors and Canisius College. She thereafter obtained a full-tuition scholarship to attend law school at the University of Illinois Chicago. While in college, Kayla worked for People Inc. as a Direct Care Specialist for individuals with developmental disabilities. Kayla contends that this was her favorite and most rewarding job because through her work at People Inc she uncovered the importance of advocacy and empathy both personally and professionally.

After passing the Uniform Bar Exam in 2022, Kayla spent a short time as Cook County Public Defender where she represented clients facing serious criminal charges in initial proceedings. During this time she learned the importance of making human connections with clients to effectively represent them in a relatively short time frame before a judge. As a Hearing Attorney with Hiller & Comerford, Kayla uses her experience in public service and effective advocacy to counsel her clients during difficult times in their pursuit for benefits.

During her time as a Hearing Attorney she has been successful in advocating for a wide range of clients including children, young adults with mental health impairments, clients with limited access to medical treatment, and others denied at the initial levels of the disability process. Kayla has a reputation for being thorough in her review of client files and responsive to her client’s needs. During her free time Kayla enjoys spending time with her family, traveling to new places, and learning new skills.
